A significant portion of India’s GDP comes from agriculture, yet there is a prevailing notion in our country that the least educated child in the family takes up farming because they are unable to secure a job in a glamorous urban company. This perception needs to change. People need to be informed that agriculture can also bring wealth, respect, and fame! The FARMFARE Awards have been designed with this vision in mind—to bring hardworking farmers onto a national stage, showcase their success stories, and honor them like superstars. This initiative aims to inspire the younger generation to start agri-based startups, recognize the voice of the fields, and combine their education with agriculture to achieve something remarkable, so that the fragrance of India’s fertile soil reaches foreign lands!
For the first season of the FARMFARE Awards, nominations have started pouring in from across the country, and an esteemed 11-member jury panel has begun evaluating them. This jury includes Padma Shri farmers, vice-chancellors of agricultural universities, research deans, and others who have started discussions on each nomination.
The event has called for nominations in various categories, with the main attractions being awards like Indian Farmer of the Year 2025, Women Farmer of the Year 2025, and Agri Startup of the Year, which are expected to be the highlights of the event.
